Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker join forces

On Friday 25 July, the poker rooms Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker merged to form an ambitious new poker website: Cereus.

Readers may remember that not long ago, both sites were embroiled in an online cheating scandal concerning their websites. What happened was that certain players were able to see their opponents’ cards and benefitted from inside help to steal money from other players. In all, no less than $1,500,000 was embezzled on Ultimate Bet.

To make a fresh start and remedy their security problems, the two companies decided to join forces and create a new poker network called Cereus. The members of both poker rooms will be directly incorporated into this new website. Through this new platform, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker are hoping to rebuild their reputation and offer their customers a new standard of playing comfort.

These two sites are ranked in 8th and 10th place in the Pokerscout classification of the most popular poker rooms.

The President Paul Legget declared “I’m really excited to announce the launch of our new network Cereus”. It’s a new departure for our company and online poker. I’m confident that Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker players will be thrilled by this new platform and we hope that it will allow us to attract new players”.
