The World Poker Association (WPA) has introduced a code of ethics for poker tournaments in order to promote the professionalism of poker throughout the world and establish a framework of ethics to be adopted for poker in general.
The charter outlines the principles of propriety, behaviour and respect which should guide the relationships between players, members of staff, tournament organisers and everyone else associated with the world of poker.
The poker code of ethics is divided into the following five sections :
• General considerations
• Relationships between players
• Relationships between players and croupiers
• Relationships between players and managers
• External relationships
