888.com falling profits for the first half of the year

The top online casino site has falling profits of 43%.

The hosting company 888.com, Pacific Poker und 888sports see its profits drop by 43% for the first half of 2009. In the first half of 2009 the profits of the group based in Gibraltar were about 15 million dollars (approximately 10.4 million euros) against 26 million last year over the same period.

While the income related on sport and bingo continued to grow, the income related on online casino have declined by 20%. However 888.com is primarily an online casino company. In the same way Pacific Poker has registered a stagnation of its attendance since 6 months.

The managing director, Gigi Levy, of 888.com tries to reassure its customers. He said the falling profits are a return to the normal situation, after a strong development of income related to the activities of the online casino. He confirms that the profits will start up again in the end of 2009.

However don’t panic. 888.com is still a profitable company.
