Hackers attack Full Tilt Poker, TitanPoker and CDPoker

A large number of online gaming websites have recently been attacked by hackers on a massive scale. Most of them are Russian sites, but poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker, Titan Poker and CDPoker have also been affected.

The hackers have used the DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack strategy, which aims to saturate the servers so that they incapable of responding when legitimate users send their requests.

In the middle of tournaments, poker players have thus found themselves totally locked out or repeatedly disconnected due to “server resets” or other maintenance operations. Because of this, Full Tilt has sometimes been inaccessible for over an hour, whereas Titan Poker, which uses four different IP addresses, has suffered less damage.

For now, the reason for these attacks remains a mystery. The poker rooms in question will soon issue a statement informing players about what they are doing to combat this new form of vandalism.
