The Englishman Julian Thew won the EPT Pokerstars tournament in Baden after overcoming the challenges of more than 282 players. This earned him the tidy sum of €670,800.
This professional player, aged 39, won his first tournament in 3 appearances at a final table. Second place went to the Hungarian Denes Kalo.
In winning the Austrian round, Julian Thew has won his entry ticket to the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
The next European Poker Tour tournament will be held in Dublin from 30th October to 3rd November 2007. The Prague EPT tournament then follows from 10th to 14th December 2007.
