MySpace launches its own online gaming channel

The community website MySpace, owned by the media giant News Corp, has formed a partnership with Oberon Media for the launch of an online gaming channel in 2008.

Oberon Media, a New York-based gaming publisher and giant of the “casual gaming” sector, will offer web pages that are customised with leisure gaming activities.

Users will be able to insert these games into their own web pages and include multiplayer modes that allow them to organise competitions with their friends.

MySpace Games is targeting the booming “casual gaming” market and offers occasional players of all ages the chance to relax and play games lasting no more than 5 minutes during a break.
