The British bookmaker William Hill is offering one million pounds sterling (1.47 million euros) as a reward for anyone who can prove the existence of the Loch Ness monster.
Shrouded in mystery and a favourite tourist destination, Loch Ness, a freshwater lake in Scotland, is supposed to have its very own monster. The bookmaker William Hill will use a music festival that will be held on the banks of the loch next weekend as an opportunity to promote its challenge and hand out 50,000 free cameras to spectators.
“With the enormous crowds on the banks of Loch Ness, it would be fantastic if someone managed to photograph the monster with one of the thousands of cameras we’re handing out” declared the bookmaker’s spokesman. He went on to mention that the “million-pound prize will help to resolve one of the great mysteries of our time”.
Right now, punters are betting at odds of 250-to-one that the mystery will not be resolved.
