Following a complaint lodged by the online poker player Natalie Telscher, the biggest online poker site PokerStars.com has been summoned to appear before the High Court of Douglas on the Isle of Man.
Natalie Telscher is claiming the 1.228 million dollars in prize money that she won during the No Limit Hold’em online poker championships in September 2007.
PokerStars has protested and states that Telscher is not entitled to claim her winnings after being caught cheating during a tournament. She was allegedly using the multi-account method.
Indeed, PokerStars claims that Telscher never actually participated in the tournament, and instead allowed an accomplice to use her “The Void” account in her place, which violates the playing rules laid down by the bookmaker.
