The WTO has just imposed heavy sanctions on the USA for its protectionist laws which were judged to be an obstacle to online internet betting services based abroad.
In the dispute between Antigua and Barbuda and the United States, the WTO has judged the American legislation on online gaming to be non-compliant and the USA has been ordered to pay 3.44 billion dollars in commercial sanctions per year.

The online gaming industry is closely following the United States’ reaction to this judgement and is wondering whether this will compel them to open up their market.
