Neteller, the international; money transfer platform which allows players to carry out online transactions with gaming websites, has issued a press release stating that the legal contexts in Canada and Turkey are no longer favourable to the continued provision of their services. The company has therefore decided to withdraw from the Canadian and Turkish markets.
According to Neteller, this decision was warranted by the risks for the company and the conditions in both markets. In Turkey, a recent law dating from February 28th 2007 bans many of the forms types of online gaming offered by foreign companies.
In Canada, Neteller stopped performing transactions relating to gambling sites for Canadian residents on April 9th 2007.
Neteller now says it wants to concentrate on the Asian and European markets.
