Bwin anticipates the liberalisation of the online gaming market in 2008

Norbert Teufelberger, the Joint CEO of the Austrian online betting company Bwin, believes that several clues point to the imminent liberalisation of the European online gaming market, including in France.

The European Commission and some industry lobbies have take steps to end some of the obstacles to the free provision of sports betting services in France.

However, Norbert Teufelberger, representing Bwin, remains perfectly aware of the gradual nature of such a liberalisation of European markets. For the moment, France hopes to move towards a controlled liberalisation, which would still be a very attractive proposition for Bwin.
