A French hacker known as Dr Killer has hacked into the British bookmaker Winamax.com…

The hacker has threatened to use P2P networks and the Internet to transmit the login details of customers of the Winamax site, which offers all types of sports betting and an online poker room.

The bookmaker has addressed this issue during the course of an inquiry and has promised to strengthen its security. It would appear that the victims had entered their confidential login details via a fraudulent (“phishing”) website offering a poker test.

In its technical conclusions, Winamax has indicated that these illicit intrusions have never jeopardised their security and that players’ accounts remain totally secure.

The person behind this attack has now been identified and proceedings have been taken against him.
